In these turbulent times with its many  crosses

Let us be consoled as we console Our Lord   offering up prayers and sacrifices

  • in atonement for  out own  sins confessed in sacramental confession with a contrite heart,  .
  • for the conversion of all who sinned against Him
  • Asking for graces not to sin , acknowledging our frailty of not being able to do it without His help

Let us pray with the words of King David presented I psalm 50

With the heart rendering musical setting of the Allegri Miserere:

Let us wipe the tears of Our Lady, by showing our love of her by offering prayers and sacrifices in her honour!

Let us allow her to wipe our tears  shed for our sins and for the sins  all!

Let us implore her to beseech God  for graces to rejoice in our  crosses, helping us to bear them gladly!

We cannot do what we usually do each  year, namely celbrate it to geher with the Brigittini Brothers of Amity, for the Coronavirus stopped us from  going. Howeve, singly or together  we are celebrating with songs, with  prayers in thanksgiving for graces  received and also prayers for graces to keep us going.

We thank and  pray for those in the Brigittine  family who helped us to come into being and still  go on helping with their  prayerful support, namely :

The Brigittini Brothers of the Our Lady of Consolation Priory in Amity OR  USA

Sister Anne, OSsS,  retired  Lady  Abbess of Syon  Abbey,  England (on the  left, on the right Mother  Margarita OSsS)

Our thanks and prayers also  go out  for the intentions  of  our many friends  and supporters, both religious  and lay, who help us with by their prayers, advice  and material assistance

Please join us, just today  in our customary Thursday prayers!

Ad Maiorem Dei Gloriam!

O Holy Infant of Prague, who shed Thy blessings on whoever invokes Thy name, look kindly on us who kneel humbly before Thy holy Image.

O Miraculous Infant Jesus, we beseech Thee to cast a merciful look at us!  Let Thy tender Heart, so inclined to pity, be softened by our prayers, and grant us that grace for which we ardently implore Thee:

Grant Thy protection to the Brigittini Servitores Sanctissimi Salvatoris. Help us to be faithful to our vocation, to see God’s will and have the strength to do it. May we flourish and grow, fulfilling the vision of Saint Birgitta in aiding and being aided by a Brigittine community of men following the traditional Latin liturgy and containing priestly members.

Share our joys and sorrows and help us in our work, in our trials and afflictions. Help us to go on serving God with a joyful heart and accept His holy will always. For the sake of Thy sacred infancy hear our prayers and send us Thy consolation and aid that we may go on praising Thee with the Father and the Holy Ghost forever and ever. Amen.

Reflections During Ascensiontide

28 Thursday May 2020

All three parts of  Eastertide (Season  of Easter, Ascensiontide and Pentecost  with its  Octave) share some common  characteristics. Liturgically, there  is much joy, shown by the many Alleluia-s and other features.

Another characteristic is  that  we are  celebrating a definite event at the very beginning of the Season This helps us to focus our attention on the event celebrated, right at the start of the Season.

Ascensiontide can be a time  of preparation, if we make use of the Novena of the Holy Ghost. Let us use this time wisely so that after gaining insights  and strength during the time  of   Pentecost  we are ready to put  our shoulders to  the wheel during the long stretch of  the Season throughout the  year!
